The Zelinda Students’ Union of K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized Bakrid Fest 2025 on 5th June at the C.H. Auditorium. The event began at 2:00 PM and brought together students and faculty in a joyful celebration of unity, tradition, and cultural diversity, in line with the spirit of Eid al-Adha. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Ayisha Liyana, University Union Councillor, followed by the presidential address by Ms. Shahana Sherin K.T., Vice Chairperson of the Union, who emphasized the importance of student participation in cultural initiatives.
The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal of the College. In his inspiring address, he highlighted the integral role of cultural festivals in academic life, particularly in fostering leadership, creativity, and social harmony. A heartfelt Eid message was delivered by Ms. Jaseena C, Assistant Professor, Department of History, who spoke on the values of unity, compassion, and sacrifice. Dr. Hikmathulla V, Fine Arts Director, and Ms. Fathima Shajidha T.K., Staff Advisor, offered felicitations, appreciating the efforts of the organizing team and encouraging students to embrace cultural expression.
The post-inaugural session featured a series of vibrant cultural performances, including a melodious group song by Shilna and team, traditional Mappila Pattu, and soulful Eid songs by Nida, Fathima Rasha, Nadeeda O., Dr. Hikmathulla V., Mr. Mohd. Jahangir, Dr. Jyothi P., and Mr. Sidhique. Each performance reflected the participants’ creativity and dedication, adding vibrance to the celebration. The programme concluded with a gracious vote of thanks by Ms. Diya A., Student Editor of the Students’ Union. Bakrid Fest 2025 successfully provided a platform for artistic expression while promoting the core values of cultural harmony and togetherness upheld by the institution.
