World Food Safety Day Celebration 

The NSS Units 008 & 171 of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, observed World Food Safety Day on 11th June 2025 at 2:00 PM in association with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Manjeri. The programme was aimed at spreading awareness on the importance of food safety regulations and legal provisions. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Faseela P, NSS Programme Officer, who highlighted the relevance of the day and the need to educate students and the community about food-related legal safeguards.

Adv. Anoop Parakkat, Advocate at the District Court, Manjeri, served as the resource person and delivered an informative and engaging session on various laws, acts, and enforcement mechanisms pertaining to food safety in India. He elaborated on the Food Safety and Standards Act, consumer rights, and penalties related to food adulteration. Volunteers of the Legal Services Authority, Mr. Suresh and Mrs. Janatha, also attended the event and offered additional insights into the services provided by DLSA in ensuring public access to justice and legal awareness. The event successfully instilled a sense of legal awareness and responsibility among students, making it a meaningful observance of World Food Safety Day.
